Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup flaxseed meal
  • 3/4 cup white sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice
  • 1 teaspoon flaky salt , or 1/2 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Position a rack to the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, add the oats, almond flour, flaxseed meal, sesame seeds, five spice and salt. Whisk together.
  3. Whisk together the maple syrup and water and pour into the bowl. Mix everything together with a spatula. It will be tacky, but not wet.
  4. Spread out the mixture as thinly as possible on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place another piece of parchment paper on top and use a rolling pin to roll out the mixture until it is the same thickness, about half a centimeter thick, maybe a little less.
  5. Peel off the top sheet of parchment paper.
  6. Bake the granola bark for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and completely hardened. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
