Marinated Feta

Marinated feta is such a delicious topping or meal addition. It's simple to make, with just a few minutes of sizzling in a pan required. Then you pour all this aromatic goodness on top of the feta, let it sit for a few minutes, and you have a punchy, flavorful topping!

Servings: 1 cup of marinated feta

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon of white, unhulled sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 8 ounces Athenos feta crumbles

Instructions 

  1. Add the lemon zest, sesame seeds, Aleppo pepper and oregano to a medium sauté pan. Cover with olive oil.
  2. Set the pan over medium heat. Bring the oil to a sizzle. Sizzle for 30-90 seconds or until the sesame seeds are golden.
  3. Pour this mixture over the feta, and mix. Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 3 days!
