Everything & More Than the Bagel Seasoning

This is everything but the bagel seasoning, but with a few added seed benefits. You can mix and match this recipe to what you have, but you're sure to get a stellar seed mix every time.

Equipment

  • 1 quart sized jar

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons dried minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 3 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons toasted white sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons sunflower seeds
  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley, optional
  • 2 tablespoons large flake salt, see recipe notes

Instructions 

  1. Add all the ingredients except for the salt to a baking sheet. Toss together until everything is evenly combined.
  2. From here, you can either toast the seeds at 300°F for 10 minutes, or leave them as-is for a longer shelf life.
  3. Sprinkle the salt evenly over the mixture and pour into a jar or tupperware container.
  4. Store in a cool dark place for up to 1 month. Use often!

Notes

***Large flake salt is integral here. Smaller flaked salt, such as kosher salt or sea salt, will fall to the bottom of the seed mix, leaving you with a huge surplus of salt at the bottom and not enough in the rest of the mixture. I recommend going for a large flakey salt brand like Maldon if you are going to use flakey salt in this recipe.
