Rose Royale Cocktail

I call this a Rose Royale – think a take on a Kir Royale, which is one of my favorite drinks, but with a splash of rose water added. It gives the classic champagne (or Prosecco, or Cava, let’s be honest) cocktail a subtle flavor note that elevates this classic French cocktail.

I typically make this cocktail with champagne, but to make it half-proof you can also sub in your favorite non-abv sparkling wines. Here are a few of my favorites, and they make a perfect addition to this Rose Royale drink:

  • Sparkling Verdejo – Null Wines
  • TÖST
  • Copenhagen Sparkling Teas

This is the perfect New Year’s Eve drink because you can have two and not get ahead of yourself! Plus, they’re so fun and festive and a great option to serve if you’re hosting. Since they’re simple to make, people can swap the champagne with a non-abv sparkling wine, and vice versa.

Rose Royale Cocktail

This is a take on a Kir Royale with a small rose water twist. The drink stays classic, with a slightly elevated feel, and all you have to do is pour and serve!

Servings: 2 cocktails

Equipment

  • 1 citrus peeler

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons rose water
  • 3 ounces Crème de cassis
  • 10 ounces champagne, or sparkling wine of choice
  • 2 twists of lemon

Instructions 

  1. Pull out two chilled champagne flutes.
  2. Pour a teaspoon of rose water into each. Top with 1.5 ounces of crème de cassis and 5 ounces of sparkling wine.
  3. Garnish with the lemon twist and serve.

      Hi Vaishnavi! The book is titled “Our Lady of Perpetual Hunger,” I believe. That’s a memoir. However if you are looking for the cookbooks I recommended in my gift guide, those are Maydan, Sofreh, and Snacking Bakes!
