jump to reviews

While I never grew up watching the Super Bowl, I always love a good excuse for a day of snacks. And let’s be real: Super Bowl Sunday just gives us the perfect reason to graze all day on delicious things. Here are 9 healthier Super Bowl snacks to rip, dip and crunch on. They are plant-forward, filling and delicious, and great recipes to make, especially if you aren’t eating chicken wings this game day!

Click here for a full table of contents!

Table of contents

  • Lemon Coriander White Bean Dip
  • Beet Hummus with Lemon & Dill
  • Spring Onion Dip
  • Smoked Trout Guacamole
  • Breaded Chickpeas with Lemon Dill Dip
  • Sizzled Jalapeño Dipping Oil
  • Yogurt Flatbreads
  • Flaxseed Crackers
  • Lemon Parmesan Chickpea Crisps

Lemon Coriander White Bean Dip

This lemon coriander white bean dip is a quick but impressive party dip that is packed with flavor (& nutrition) and fits all dietary restrictions. Plus, it’s insanely quick to make.

Lemon Coriander White Bean Dip

This dip is so simple but so perfect for a party, a snacky-dinner-in, or even prepping to have throughout the week. The ingredients are minimal, but the result is unexpectedly flavorful (not to mention plant-based, protein-filled, and wholesome!). It's a truly stellar dip, and pairs well with any herb oil drizzled on top. Or even some caramelized lemon if you are feeling wild.

Beet Hummus with Lemon & Dill

Lemon and dill is my favorite combination for a tangy, bright hummus, but adding beets to make this Beet Hummus with Lemon & Dill has completely changed the game for me (football pun unintended). This is the perfect dip to serve at a party because not only is it visually stunning, it’s also beyond delicious.

Beet Hummus with Lemon & Dill

This quick, simple, minimal-ingredient spread is bright pink, incredibly delicious and packed with bright, tangy flavor and richness from tahini, lemon and dill. The color is only half of the fun, the flavor matches it with every bite.

Spring Onion Dip

Think sour cream and onion dip but just a touch better. This spring onion dip is topped with crispy, zesty fried spring onion greens, meaning we use the whole spring onion, and we get all of the delicious results. This one will be cleaned from the appetizer table within minutes. And no spring onions? Scallions will work just as well.

Spring Onion Dip

This is a perfect crowd-pleasing, delicious dip that uses every single part of the spring onion. This dip tastes like a sour cream and onion dip, but just a bit lighter, zestier, and with the addition of some olive oil fried spring onion greens on top. The dip is a mix between creamy and crispy, meaning you get the best textures in every bite.

Smoked Trout Guacamole

If you’re looking for a classic dip with a twist then may I suggest this smoked trout guacamole? It has a subtle smokiness from the trout, a hint of roasted peppers, enough adobo sauce for a good kick, and two whole limes, because one just wouldn’t cut it. It may not be the prettiest dip on the table but I always get asked for the recipe – the people are obsessed.

Smoked Trout Guacamole

This smoked trout guacamole is the best guacamole I've ever eaten, no lie! It's smoky but not fishy, acidic from the lime, bright from the zesty peppers and red onion and filled with the perfect amound of heat from my favorite ingredient, adobo sauce.

Breaded Chickpeas with Lemon Dill Dip

Why just eat chips when you could have zesty, crunchy chickpeas? These crispy breaded chickpeas are the kind of snack that will vanish before kick-off. It’s too easy to grab a handful of them and the lemon dill dip just makes everything better.

These crispy chickpeas are coated in nutritional yeast and spices to really oomph up their flavor and texture. They are vegan, gluten-free, packed with protein, and great as a snack or a full meal!

Sizzled Jalapeño Dipping Oil

This Sizzled Jalapeño Dipping Oil is a recipe to keep around for beyond Super Bowl Sunday. This perfectly spicy, acidic and punchy dipping oil is so addicting, you’ll find yourself making it over and over again. If you’re feeling ambitious, you could serve it alongside this genoa-style focaccia, otherwise it’ll go perfectly with the flatbread below.

Sizzled Jalapeño Dipping Oil

This quick, sizzly, vibrant dipping oil is my PERFECT appetizer or side. It's not too spicy, since we are using pickled jalapeños (Mezzetta is my favorite), and it's fresh and light while still being tangy and delicious. You can pool it on top of ricotta for a richer dip, but I love it as is, with a squeeze of lemon and springy bread for dipping.

Yogurt Flatbreads

Ready in half an hour, these yogurt flatbreads are perfect for dipping, scooping, tearing and topping, and they could not be easier (or more fun!) to make. I particularly love them with the sizzled jalapeño dip above.

A stack of yogurt flatbreads.

Yogurt Flatbreads

Very similar to paranthas, or pitas, or fry breads, these flatbreads are griddled on a hot skillet to turn into the chewy, carby, dreamy breads that end up on your plate. They are perfect for dipping, scooping, tearing and topping, and they could not be easier (or more fun!) to make.

Flaxseed Crackers

Light, crunchy, easy to make and perfect for dipping! If you have any dips on your table, you’ll want these along side them.

Flaxseed Crackers

These heart-healthy flaxseed crackers are filling, delicious, and absolutely packed with feel-good ingredients. They are easy to whip up, and great to have around for the week. I use them for snacks, on top of salads or as a side to a bowl of beans or soup.

Lemon Parmesan Chickpea Crisps

These Lemon Parmesan Chickpea Crisps are just easy and fun, especially if you’re not feeling a typical cracker. Enjoy them as they are or use them as a crispy vessel for dipping!

Lemon Parmesan Chickpea Crisps

This recipe is so easy and so fun. And it's the perfect addition to anything! Add it to soups, add it to salads or put it on popcorn – these Lemon Parmesan Chickpea Crisps are the best meal topping or snack, and one of the first things to disappear at parties.
